Work Package 6: Communication and Dissemination

The pupil programme was supported by quality resources developed on the basis of a review of existing good practices and also a study of the current educational context of sustainable energy education in each partner country before the project implementation.

D6.0 A Review of Current Educational Policy and Practice

Communication about the project activity was an important focus so that a wide awareness and interest in the work could be generated with a view to longer term replication.

In the first phase each partner produced a leaflet about the forthcoming project to encourage participation and, during the project action.

Newsletters were issued regularly in each region and two international newsletters celebrated the start and end of the project.

Press releases engaged a wider audience with the projrct

YEP! was also presented at conferences for relevent audiences.

As the project was coming to a close the partnership wanted to share the lessons learned from the experience and encourage others to take similar courses of action. Framework documents presenting the lessons learned about engaging schools and workplaces in sustainable energy education were produced, along with case studies of best practice schools.

In a specific effort to engage new schools to the project work each partner disseminated project information to 100 schools in their regions

From the response to dissemination, the five most interested schools in each country were invited to receive a roadshow event that bought aspects of the project action to their schools in order that they may get a ‘taster’ of what YEP! is all about.
